Nathaniel Than

Nathaniel Tran (they/he) is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Health Policy and graduate research associate with the Vanderbilt LGBTQ+ Policy Lab. Their research examines the role of health and social policies in advancing LGBTQ+ health equity. They use a variety of data (e.g. electronic health records, national surveys, and one-on-one interviews) to understand how our laws, policies and cultural norms impact population health. Their dissertation research exams the role of provider, state, and federal policy on sexual and gender minority aging outcomes such as age-appropriate cancer screening and dementia risk.
